Derrill Fadler, 87, of Jackson, passed away May 14, 2024. A skilled woodworker and devoted church elder, he leaves behind his wife of nearly 66 years, Leola, three sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Derrill Fadler, 87, of Jackson, formerly of Bollinger County, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Patton to August and Stella Madden Fadler. He was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Patton and was a 1955 graduate of Patton High School.

Derrill and Leola Deimund were married May 24, 1958, in Perryville. In 1960, they moved from Patton to Jackson and became active members of the First Presbyterian Church, where Derrill was an elder and deacon, and served in other capacities where he could use his construction skills.

Derrill was an accomplished woodworker but did all kinds of local residential and commercial construction. He concluded his career with the Jackson School District, first working in maintenance and then as a freelance carpenter, making custom cabinetry and shelves.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 66 years, Leola Fadler of Jackson; three sons, David (Kathy) Fadler, Rodney Fadler and Mark (Tia) Fadler, all of Jackson; grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Evan, Shelby and Conner; and great-grandchildren, Jensen, Wade, Mason, Logan, Aubrey, Lunda and Willow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Jean Proctor; and a brother, Audrey Lee (Audrey June) Fadler.

Visitation was held Friday, May 17, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, followed by a funeral service conducted by the Rev. Charles Buck. Interment was in Patton Cemetery.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests the Presbyterian Church in Jackson, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
