“We’ll go from there, get a look at the scope of work, determine what needs to be done,” Presiding Commissioner Leo Arnzen said. “We need to know our best option for the county.”

Bill Robison and Billy Cobb with Smith & Company in Poplar Bluff, an engineering firm that has done drilling at the courthouse to determine stability in the soil, told the commission Monday that a report from their geological study would be submitted soon.

In other business, Bollinger County Health Center administrator Juanita Welker updated the commission on the center’s parking lot project. A contract has been awarded, Welker said, and work will start soon. She said a new lot will be constructed to provide more parking space, and repairs will be made to the existing concrete.
