Woodland students in kindergarten through fourth grade competed earlier this month in the Math Whiz. Five students from each classroom moved on to the final round for a total of 15 students per grade level. Three winners from each grade were named.
The categories were recognition 0-100 (kindergarten); addition facts (first grade); addition and subtraction facts (second grade); addition, subtraction and multiplication facts (third grade); and addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts (fourth grade).
Students placed by getting the most correct answers in a minute. Winners include the following:
Kindergarten: Shiloh Gemeinhardt, first; Chase Long, second; Darcy Long, third
First grade: Kade Johnson, first; Bentley Scherer, second; Emma Moore, third
Second grade: Lucas Li, first; Brynlee Killian, second; Kennedy Ritter, third
Third grade: Alaina Long, first; Clate VanGennip, second; Hadlie Davault, third
Fourth grade: Bryson Overman, first; Zeke Upchurch, second; Violet Stegeman, third
